Iowa | Covid went thru our family last fall. My wife lost her taste and smell, as did my oldest daughter, rest of the kids it was like a cold. Well here we are almost a year later and oldest daughter is back to normal other than she claims bacon tastes like dog food (which is good cause she used to hog it). Poor wife loved tacos and pizza, now she can’t stand garlic and cumin - claims gasoline and bleach both smell like throwup. To the point she doesn’t like to fuel up her car for fear of throwing up herself. Initially this was great/funny cause my wife would take steak or roast and turn them into tacos, while I’m a meat and potato guy. 17 years of marriage and I actually got to eat what I like! Now I really feel sorry for her cause her favorite restaurants she doesn’t even like anymore. Anybody had any similar symptoms, did it ever go away or any tricks to getting better? Most of the other tastes she says are similar but dulled down, and those other are amplified 100x. | |
