Subject: Give me pointers new to feeding

ECIL
I have 1 heifer that has been slow growing. Probably 20 months old. March 1 started working her up in feed.hand feeding. Have her eating 21#s of corn and 2 lbs of Kent 34% baby beef supplement. Free choice bailed grass hay. Been on that for probably 60 days. She goes to butcher he’ll or high water June 27. She has been gaining 2.3 lbs per day. Should weigh about 1050#s on the 27th if gain holds.

Have two 8 month old steers that weigh approximately 750 lbs they are on the same ration as the heifer. Their appointment is later in the year. They will be on this ration for 210 days by that point. Hopefully weighing 1100 lbs.

Will my meat be any good? Will I have enough fat on her and them? This is my first rodeo. Bought the cattle off of an older neighbor. He is into show cattle, I’m into steaks. He’s great help with teaching a novice to work with cattle but not much knowledges for feeding them out. Wanting good steak and burger. What suggestions do you have? I want it to be low management as possible. I’ve enjoyed having cattle over past year and would like to manage better steaks each time.
