BC, Canada | We are looking into a different option to pushing up feed on our dairy. We are not a robot herd with no plans of becoming one anytime soon. As of right now we use a hand scraper and push feed twice during the day and once in the evening. We feed twice a day usually around 4:45 am and 4:15 pm.
Considering a Lely feed pusher for the diversity of being able to set it to push the feed more during the night when nobody is in the barn. The other option is a feed blade for one of the Bobcats we have, I'm not in favor of starting a Bobcat for 2 minutes of work 3 more times a day. But the blade option is going to be way cheaper that a Lely.
Looking for opinions from guys who have a Lely, both robot guys and no robots guys.
