North Central Kansas | I finished cutting a field of soybeans late last night about midnight and was moving some equipment around. I was walking back to get my pickup in the dark after I had driven the grain cart up to the road 1/8 of a mile away when I had this funny feeling that something was watching me. I switched on my headlight that I carry and sure enough there was a set of eyes about 30 yards away and another set about 60 yards away. By the way they moved I was sure they weren't deer or coons. I got to the pickup and turned the lights on and made a circle and there were 4 coyotes. Two more were about another 100-150 yards. I thought it was funny that they weren't bothered by the tractor and all the activity. Makes me wonder how well they could see me? It was pretty windy and my back was to the wind so they should have smelled me.
People around here claim they have seen mountain lions but I have never seen one. | |
