S.C. Wisconsin
When I was young I got stuck driving an old A John Deere with an 8 ft disc. I always joked that you had to watch the fence post to see if you were moving. It was a real treat when my dad got caught up with plowing with his 3 bottom plow with Allis WD45 and let me put that on the disc. Then I seem to making much better time. Now the fellow that rents our farm has a 24 row planter that plants the whole farm in a half of day. In our area there are not many abandoned farms as they have been bought up by people working at other jobs in the area. It's nice to see those old homesteads being kept up and some of them have new houses on the property. It sure helps with the tax base in our area. But back when I was young those good jobs available off the farm were few and far between.
