'Here' it makes a big difference who pulls you over.

There are 2 officers that generally patrol this area for the DOT.
Officer 'A' is a decent fellow, and if he feels you are making every effort to be safe, he'll just warn you to strap it down better, or don't load so heavy before.

Officer 'B' is known to write a ticket for EVERYTHING. I once got a ticket for being 150# overloaded on the rear of a farm truck. When I got to the elevator, the guys in line were talking about the DOT hanging around. I mentioned I got a ticket for being 150# over on an axle (which came out to under 50# per tire) and got a ticket for first offense, no warning, about 5 guys at the same time said 'You must have been stopped by Officer 'B'.
