We clean ours more often than some but not as much as I’d like. Tools are cleaned and put away daily. Floors are swept weekly or more often if between projects. I absolutely can’t stand clutter on benches and having to walk on trails to navigate the shop. I won’t live that way. If it hasn’t been used in the past year it gets pitched or goes to long term storage. We try to wash the walls once a year and power wash the floor at least two or three times a year.

I believe shops are to be used as much as possible, and don’t buy into the cleaning theory of washing walls and floors. Tiddying up clutter for sure, and organizing, but scrubbing walls is pointless. I’d rather be working on something that makes me money.

My sperm doning relative would rather had me scrubbing walls and washing windows than doing anything productive in the shop. Always had to look pretty for when his drunk buddies would come by and stare at his pulling tractor.
