Manitoba | DON'T put in only floor heat, especially in a concrete floor. My wife's parents put a concrete floor at one end of the house, two bedrooms with a bathroom in between. They had only in floor heat in the whole house. The other end had tubes stapled under the plywood floor. If they had a cold spell for a while and it warmed up suddenly, the floor kept on heating and it was so warm, we couldn't sleep. On the other hand, if it was warm and cooled off suddenly, it took too long for it to warm up. A little heat in the floor is OK, but not only floor heat.
Maybe that wouldn't matter in some climates, but I would think southern Minnesota would have some extreme temperature swings. | |
