I was able to get the box back into usable shape but door doesn't close properly, and i had to use screws with washers to hold it to the wood. The arresting office said that i will get a copy of the report and the driver will be orderd to settle up with me weither it be a insurance claim or they pay cash. I looked up the cost of the box i have and it is $95 new, i was able to drive by post in again and set my box back on it. Edit to add driver made a agressive attempt to get out of the ditch taking out a road sign in the process and very quickly dropped his girlfiends name, who is a trouper, to the arresting officer. Don't take this the wrong way - life's too short - I'd simply replace it and not waste my time/life with such trivial things. If the driver did it on purpose, and I was right there when the officer was talking with him, I'd ask he/she help fix/repair . . . . . aside from that, Thank God, if that's the worst thing going on in your life. Life happens - I'd put my energy toward something more challenging / rewarding. |
