Dallas Center IA 515-720-2463
Pretty sure the 11th hour, 11th day, 11th month deal was not planned just worked out that way.

London and the UK are on what is Greenwich Mean Time 0
Most of western Europe are one hour ahead 0+1. All the way from Spain to Poland.
But not Portugal, they are the same as the UK

The front was in time zone GMT+1

Here in North America many of us on this forum are in the Central time zone, GMT-6
So here in Iowa, Illinois, Wis, Missouri, Minnesota our clocks were seven hours behind.
The end of the war was at 4:00 Dallas Center Iowa time on November 11.

And there were troops killed right up to the last minute. Seems very hard for me to believe that if the war was to be over in a few hours, why anyone would want to do any shooting at the other guys.
But if someone was shooting at me, I would shoot back.
