Cherokee County, Northwest Iowa
1. Small notice in local paper the other day, someone local, printed that their uncle gave his life on 11-11-18, the last day of the war, notice was in rememberance of him-so sad, but glad that he published that.

2. I attended a one hour lecture last night put on by local museum, history professor from Wayne State College, Wayne Nebr. was kind enough to come and speak. was very interesting. He said that the armistice just happened to be signed at 5 am, and that the war was to end 6 hours later, so it was just by chance that it turned out to be the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day, of the eleventh month. I didn't ask about 5 am where, either here or in Europe, but the main point was that it just turned out that way, wasn't planned.
