Central ND | Bought a Roomba 960 just the other day. Has the newer smart navigation or whatever. They need a clear area to work well but can get thrown off by things. Climbed up on a kids toy a bit and was all screwed up. Cord, coats, blankets, etc. must be kept picked up.
It cleaned the carpet very well I thought and I could see where it would be nice to have with a more open floor plan and a lot of carpet. It worked on hardwood but flung lots of crumbs around.
Used in the living room about 20mins, tried the hardwood, wouldn't work on the rug. I'll be returning it. It has a place but for the $$, I wont have one in my current home.
