west-byGod-Pa. | age 14: 40mph down a hill on bike: handle bars slipped down, lost control, head over heals into telephone pole: broken collar bone. Rolled 1800 Oliver(narrow front) ALL the way over chasing a cow in pasture, drought conditions: tried to "skid" tractor around, went over so fast could not get away from it. Not fun face pressed b/w console & stubble on ground.Just a wonder I did not lose my right eye at the least. Sore for weeks. Stump shot on huge oak tree missed my head by a foot.Had a Ford 8N with sickle bar VERTICLE while trying to mow going up a slope(real fun!!) When 10 years old, Fell thru the upper floor of a barn extension under construction-through hay drop...landed on my back on concrete. Knocked the wind out of me for about 20 minutes. Hay drop was covered over by a piece of cardboard. Why, I will never know. Likely more that I do not remember | |
