Subject: RE: Farm injuries

North of London
Been lucky, many of my misadventures left me amazed that I walked away
Dropped a loaded corn planter on my foot around midnight or later at a farm on another road before the time of cell phones.
Steel toed shoe and loose dirt saved me from more than a sore foot for a few weeks and after scrambling and scratching for a few minutes managed barely to reach a jack and get it to lift it off my foot enough to go home to bed.

As a teen ager had a loaded 'litter carrier' break loose and hit me
Still have the scar on my face and my younger siblings that were in the barn too had my mother coming as I woke up.

Had a lodged tree break as I felled it and spring back from the tree it was lodged in and tap me on the back.
Left me on my hands and knees and gasping for breath and a very bruised back but a motion in my peripheral vision had me start to move just before it hit me or it would have been my head with no safety helmet.

Well that is enough for tonight, might not be able to sleep if I keep reminiscing about those near misses.
Only 1 trip to hospital, for a smashed finger.
