| Antler, I’m also an avid fisherman, mainly walleyes, in Canada. The minimum entry point for the master angler list is 28”. While a very nice fish, I no longer would mount one of that size. A 28” inch walleye is right about the equivalent of a 150” whitetail. I’ve gradually been raising my personal standards, to where 160” is a shooter in my book. I’ve come to the realization to field judge deer as to whether they are shooters or not, and the best rule of thumb I’ve come up with is this; If you need to look him over with binoculars first, he’s not a shooter. I’ve found when a 160” shows up, I don’t need to be reaching for my binoculars, I’m grabbing my weapon and getting ready. And regarding you proper way comment, that goes for most things. Is it wrong to ask for sportsman to raise the bar some? Sounds like it is.
