A local ag equipment company amity says what they buy to manufacture farm machinery is going up
Steel prices, up 26 percent
• Castings, shanks, up 10 percent
• Tires and wheels, up 8 percent
• Some categories from Canada, up 40 percent
• Specific steel items (supply-demand sensitive), up 61 percent
And if we still had these industries in the US they would not be going up as much. If companies were not shareholder-centric they would not have brought these jobs overseas to an area that pays its workers rice on the dollar. I am not ecstatic that is it happening, but I am glad it is. We need an equal playing field in all industries. Not this manipulated nonsense we are stuck in. It just really sucks that the group of people that get affected the most
(and immediate
) are farmers
(<1%
).
