The market will figure it out.

I know around here there are basically three choices: Corn, Soybeans and livestock related forages or pasture for livestock. As far as other crops - there are no local markets to bring the crop to. Basis on Corn is about 25 to 40 cents at the local E-Plant and Soybeans is about 80 cents right now. That is what you are up against.

Hard to take 55 APH Soybeans and 200 APH Corn in the heart of the corn belt and turn that ground into pasture ground. Nearly impossible.


Agree, with new genetics 200 bushel corn is getting Easier to produce every year.
