I’ve got the pocket nir, commercially known as Reveal from Cargill. If you are doing multiple feeds per week (or even daily) it’s worth it. Sample takes about 1-2 minutes to process, the speed let’s you take a lot more samples regularly. I’m sampling 5 days a week and averaging the last two results. Fresh feed calibrations are coming real soon.

Looks interesting but seems pricey for us small dairy guys: The initial investment for Reveal® analysis is $499 for the SCiO, with a monthly service fee of $180 and a 12-month contract commitment: https://www.cargill.com/animal-nutrition/innovation/reveal-forage-an...

That is $2100 per year.

Consumer Physics is selling the hardware direct to consumers for a flat price of $299: https://www.consumerphysics.com/scio-for-consumers/ Includes the following: SCiO sensor with SCiO’s home use applications including Produce Selector app, food analysis for meats, dairy products, fish, chocolate, fruits and vegetables, pill identification, and the SCiO Workshop.

Not sure what Chr Hansen has it priced at. Is it a subscription too or a flat upfront fee? https://www.drovers.com/article/chr-hansen-consumer-physics-partner-...
