Subject: Rye vs triticale

I am wanting to put in a winter annual to either bale or chop and blow into a silo. Which one of these would you recommend? Haying in the spring has been difficult these past few years with our cool wet springs so if it is ready later in the spring that would be okay with me. Located in NE NE. Are there any other ideas for a second crop? I wouldn’t mind doing beans after it but I would be okay with planting a summer annual forage later on so I have time to haul manure once the rye/trit is off. TIA
