I agree wholeheartedly on the temp subject. So much emphasis is placed on pollination and while that is very important, I have rarely seen it fail here. Grain fill is where the big unknown is in my mind. As you stated, August temps tipped the scales last year 'here" and I suspect elsewhere as well.
