This may motivate China to finance and support infrastructure improvements in Brazil. Once they have a railroad, roads and loading facilities China's worries are over. Infrastructure won't disappear if Trump and his tariffs go away. If Brazil had a more stable political environment this would've happened decades ago. China would be taking a chance that their investments be nationalized once completed but the tariffs might make it worth the risk . We'll know a lot more two years from now.
china owning all the infrastructure in another country seems like a fools errand to me. Corruption will eat that money up long before it's ever completed. The truck drivers strike every year for god sakes. They going to haul it all too? A year ago china was on the verge of economical collapse according to some here. Now they are going to spend a few hundred billion? That would be some expensive soy.
