| The public library in my small southern Illinois town is part of the Shawnee Library system and if you have a card from the small library, you can get books from any library in the system, or go to any library and check out books. If you live in town, you pay a library tax and if you live outside the town you pay $22 per year for a library card. Actually if you want to use any public library you are allowed to do so, you just can’t check out books unless you have a library card. As far as having to provide a drivers license to use their computers, I believe that is pretty much the standard policy. | |
