Sometimes I wonder just what might be under the ground or what was under the ground at different times.
I farm on land that has a limestone base not too far down and we are always picking up limestone pieces.
Many have obvious small shells in them which would have been deposited millions of years ago.
The ground under our feet has seen lots of changes through millions of years as the land masses move to different areas on the face on the earth and rise and fall in elevation.
we are now at an elevation of 300 plus metres but our base once was under a sea to form the limestone.
