Subject: Kansas Dinosaur Silvasaurus Condrayi

North Central Kansas
This was discovered on a ranch about 6 miles to my Southwest by a family that I know. They were herding cattle and found the bones sticking out of the ground. It is the only dinosaur to be discovered so far in Kansas. The area I am in is sandstone country and was not under water like the Western third of Kansas.

It was discovered by Warren Condray. I am not sure if his sons Jerry and Jettie were with him or not. Jettie was my fifth grade teacher. After he retired from teaching he became our local museum director. The dinosaur was named after them. Jettie enjoyed telling the story about the dinosaur.
