Near-north Ontario, French River | Ha.. I struggled to weld aluminum the other day. Couldn't get a nice bead no matter what we did. We tried adjusting wire feed, gas flows , etc etc.... finally gave up and called a guy that had welded extensively over the years. His first suggestion was that we use aluminum wire instead of stainless !... DOH. Thought it was going to be a nightmare to clean up the mess of welds we had..but all it took was grabbing the weld bead with pliers and twisting.. the entire bead just fell off LOL.. swapped wire and we were off to the races. |
