Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa | lugnut56 - 4/25/2018 22:11 I've had my planter hooked up and ready to go for a month. It's an older Kinze split-row, but new to me last spring. Last summer I cleaned it up, greased it and stored the meters after I was finished. I thought I was ready to go after changing sprockets and checking tire pressures. I planted 15 acres today before I realized I hadn't slid my markers back out the 15 inches for 30" corn rows. I was off numerous times checking depth and making adjustments. I can't believe I didn't catch THAT SOONER! And of course it had to be along a public road! My planter's a 12 row and my corn head's an 8, that ought to be fun!
Silver lining time..........it could be worse!! I know a guy who wanted to change his planter from 36s to 30s. So he moved his markers in. That. Is. All. Yeah, that worked well. |
