If you toss out 2012, been pretty wet out here for some time, 2007-2011 we were getting 200 bushel corn on dryland corners. We have been a little drier since, with some drier periods. I am tired of this pattern because the thunderstorms out here have been atrocious over the last 10 years. Green snap and hail used to be hit and miss, now it is a given fact.


I started farming 11 years ago. I've had 2 years without a hail event. Most years it's been isolated, except for 2014. It seems like these storms pop up on the same small path year after year.

I remember how hot and dry it was in the early 2000s... I keep thinking one of these years we will head back into that pattern.
