If it is so great for the producer, and a no-brainer, why does it have to have 'major subsidy $ behind it' as LKM has stated.

Before the spike in futures today, Corn was $2.75 locally. Farmers produce the raw materials everyone else gets rich on. These people getting rich pay taxes.
