RCR - 7/14/2017 22:35 PLC will have its biggest year yet. I think 1.4 a bu on wheat and .35 on corn. I have mine broke down into bushels so I have 140 bpa covered at 3.7. .35x140= 49 per acre. 51x1.4=71.4 per acre wheat. No where near to the payments on arc the last couple years. With average prices and decent county yields, I would expect arc to be under 15 per acre.
No kidding on PLC!!! I signed most of my acres up that way cause I figured I didn't need the money unless prices were low enough to trigger PLC. And I kept my old base acres, that have a lot of sorghum. Of course, they don't have as high a yield as the corn acres, but I think that $1.30/bu will beat $.35/bu even on the lower yield numbers!! Gonna be a nice check for me this fall, and this fall I can use it!!!
Same here. I have a lot of grain sorghum base. It should be a nice healthy check this year.
