Subject: RE: FSA Payments ?

Missouri
Like others have said, things can be very different from county to county. In NW MO, our guarantees aren't that high due to the last 5 years of yields. I think most counties here will get a small to medium ARC-CO payment on corn this October (for 2016). Of course PLC payments will trigger, and they will be made nationwide. And I doubt if any bean payments will be made at all.

However, what is happening with the markets right now WILL affect the payments we will get in October. That's why they run a year behind - they wait to see a full year of prices after the crop is harvested. So the current market affects the 2016 ARCPLC payment. For corn and beans the 2016 price is determined from September 1, 2016 through August 31, 2017. So this rally where many people sold old crop will slightly raise the national average market price. Although I doubt if a couple days of sales is enough to move the average very far.
