Well I went a little backwards. I wanted a computer with a built in serial port for updating autopilots after having trouble with USB to Serial cables. Bought a older Tough book that has XP on it for updating Autopilots. Anyways how worried should I be about security with the Windows XP? Not going to be used much except for in the field updating equipment and downloading new firmware. The little bit I have used it I really like the old XP operating system too bad they had to stop supporting it.

I've got to agree with you about XP. Especially with file manipulation. Funny you should bring this up as I have an old IBM Toughbook myself for that reason when I was a Tech. I now just use it for music playback. I was using it the other day to check out some confusion I had with some external hard drives. It was like working with an old friend as I felt in complete control of what was going on.
