Who will draw the highest SS payment, you or your wife? In my case 1/2 of my wife's SS will be more than mine so when she starts to draw SS I will draw on hers. My accountant told me to draw on mine at the start of the tax year that I turned 63. Then when she retires (2 to 5 years from now) draw on hers. If you each plan on drawing on your own account and you both are in good health I would have her wait until she is 65. My wife is 8 years younger than me so that makes things more complicated to figure out.
