Tile does not remove water that would be available to the roots. It removes water that is taking place of air in the soil and lets the roots access available water. This controlled drainage BS is a bill of goods we are being sold. IMHO. Now there are places where tile 4 feet deep is about 1 foot too deep simply from a drainage standpoint and really tight soils.
