Redickville, Ont | My dad started me when I was 12 and I'm now 30. The 10% rule is great idea. Yes it's hard to put 10% of your wages into a retirement fund and I had to cut back when our little one was born but compound interest is a great thing if you give it enough time. My dad always said if I wanted to be able to give my kids the opportunity to farm I was going to have to be able to retire without selling it. Easy said than done. if you have no successor than probably the farm your best investment as long as you don't lose it. | |
