I would kennel him when I couldn't watch him. Punish him hard when he chews something he shouldn't and then give him something he can chew.
Don't give him anything that can be mistaken for something he can't chew. Had a Healer and we used socks but he could only play with socks with a knot in them. He learned the difference.
