South Texas | My heavy puller is an 08 f350 with a v10 in it. It thinks not much of a 24' trailer packed tight. They never put a 7.3 in such a good truck, I also have that in an 03. With the spread between gas and diesel prices lately the v10 runs cheaper on fuel with no trailer, up to about 6000 lbs of trailer. My old dodge with a 5.9 runs cheaper always, but not near as much a truck as the 08. I really like the 05 and up ford trucks, no matter what the engine.
A new half ton should handle a 24' trailer well enough. | |
