Subject: RE: It can be difficult

Seymour, IL
It can be tough to cash flow on an annual basis with a corn and soy rotation
A tool that can help you evaluate both the short term and long term changes in operating costs:
https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/wps/portal/nrcs/main/il/soils/health/

The addition of livestock makes a significant difference in the time to break even, or even positive reductions in operating costs due to the feed value derived.

The changes in a crop only setting takes a number of years typically.

It is not easy or fast. I believe it can have long term benefits. There needs to be more research and direct, replicated trials.
