SE IA | I guess I personally liked the slightly smaller pen widths but don't know if you can cost effectively get there...there are some out there with small 30 head pens and then you have the autostart barns with a couple hundred per pen.
I like the middle alleyways and you would have to pay me extra to do anything different.
It seems that when barns were first built they gave good gates and equipment for a cheap price where you could pay a barn off in 7 years. Then prices went up with same equipment to pay off same building in 10 years. And now it looks like they are cutting corners on equipment (fewer pens, bigger feeders, lighter gates, fewer rebar in the slats, cheaper fan motors, etc. just plain old cheaper quality equipment) and they are still charging the amount to make them pay off in 10-12 years. | |
