SW WI
Illinois Kris, I can't speak for MN, but at least in my area of WI, No, there were not planting delays in 2012.

One of them things of being careful what you wish for regarding 12. I remember day after day of above normal temps and sunny great weather all late winter and spring of 12. Thinking this is so nice to work in nice weather so many days.

Planting went well and then of course it was time to say "well, we sure could use some rain". Followed by " damn, we need some rain".

What I remember the most is an occasional .3 or .4, which is better than nothing but you are running more and more of a deficit that you just don't get caught back up.

Interesting enough, the Rochester, MN area, Kasson, Dodge Center caught enough precipitation in July to have quite a very good yield. I would watch those events hit that area, look like they were coming right for me, then fizzle out as they crossed the Mississippi river and I would end up with the .3 or .4.
