Lee Co | my right thumb was worn out a few years back. The last small bone just ahead of the wrist was the problem. I went to a hand surgeon, and he removed the piece of bone then rolled up a piece of cartilage from my fore arm and put it in it's place. this was a no pain operation but it did take a couple years to get strength back. I would make sure she goes to a hand specific orthopod. not just a orthopedic surgeon that thinks they can do it all. The guy I went to works only on hands, weather orthopedic or plastic surgery only hands. On occasion I go back to him for a trigger finger and he always wants to know if I'm having any trouble with the thumb. So far so, good. | |
