Northeast Nebraska
That is probably about a wash.

On a 1000 bushel load of corn, which is common for a tandem truck pulling a tandem trailer, you are gaining $50 a load for the extra $.05/bu. If you are going an extra 15 miles one way, thats 30 miles round trip, you would have to be doing the hauling for $1.66/mile. Some guys will go out on the road for that, some wont. Right now in my area, there are alot of trucks on the road for that price or less per mile. Every farmer and their dog is trying to keep a hired man busy so trucking rates are crap right now.
