Is this the P3 Standard?
Your wifi Data limit is irrelevant - it will only try to download a local map to the app  
It might help to put the phone or tablet in Airplane mode while connected to the drone. 
If just testing indoors something might be bothering it - need to be well out in the open to do compass calibration then a proper test.
