Will an Apple TV box (see link) turn any non-Smart tv into a "smart tv" as long as there is Wi-Fi signal present & capable?

If one puts an Apple box on a regular late model, though "non-Smart" tv, will you be able to watch YouTubes?

Will you be able to use google or IE & utilize the tv as you would with your present tower computer & present hard-wired monitor? I'd assume then you'd need the keyboard to go along with the Apple box, if it works as a computer.

I plead ignorance on the Apple box deal. I'm hoping to hear that your phone doesn't need to be associated in this deal somehow....just your normal Wi-Fi signal in your house, assuming you do have that signal.

Finally, let me say, I fully realize life was a whole lot simpler 50 yrs ago.
