North Central Kentucky | This was the goal of farm subsidies. The government didn't care about the wellbeing of the farmer, they had a vested interest in assuring a cheap abundant food supply.
The taxpaying non farmers are also on the teat so to speak, whether they realize it or not. I believe the market would adjust to find what it needs without subsidies, and the farmer would survive. I'm not so sure about the working poor. | |
