WC MN | Spacing matters but not much. Uniform emergence is way more important, in high residue it is common to see,for example, 5 plants in a row come up later than the next 5 and doesn't seem to bother as much as when every other plant is residue covered. Also this year plants that silked before rain started around July 9 here were often half size ears, then made up for it later by filling a huge kernal. | |
