Subject: RE: Quitting Copenhagen

sw Nebraska
I started in high school and college around rodeo friends. Everyone chewed, US tobacco gave free cans at the college rodeos. Continued another 10 years, quit for a full year then bummed a dip and was back on it. Several years later, my gums were receding and my mouth was sore at times. A pro saddle bronc rider that actually shared my name (no Relation) died of mouth cancer, enough. I quit, took one less chew every day until none over about 2 weeks. I carried an empty can for probably a year, a can with coffee grounds works also. You will probably gain weight, some physical exercise program might help on the calorie front and to keep sane, a little endorphin rush. I run now. Don't try and quit during planting, harvest, calving, etc., whatever your worst stress periods are but stay busy. The first week is the worst, get past that It got much easier for me. Been quit for 15 years or more now, don't miss it now but for the first five years one dip and I would be back on it. Best of Luck!
