Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa | I'm generally pretty accepting of however drivers meeting a funeral procession choose to behave. I always try to stop and pull off if I'm able to do it safely and it warms my heart when others do the same, but obviously not everyone was raised to do that, and I'm not going to change their attitudes from my position in the front seat of an oncoming car. So, if they don't slow down or stop, I guess that's OK. But today, the procession we were part of was traveling on a 4-lane road that drops to 2-lane. And here comes a car hell-bent-for-election up the lefthand lane to try to get ahead of the procession before the road narrows. Nope, she didn't make it.....she wound up in the middle of the line, running 45-50 mph all the way to the turn-off to the cemetery......about 10-12 miles, then just tears out as soon as the car in front of her turns off. Not sure what her issue was, but I hope she made it in time. |
