niobrara nebraska | A little concerned for the feeders up this way. None of them are long term feed yards. All pretty new last 10-15 years. Sure hope they have done everything "right" to minimize losses. But from the attitude of them when you talk to them, things are not good. Everyone had the get BIG attitude after the one turn where they made a bunch. Kind of like the guy in this post who's neighbor always doubled down. Works till it doesn't and then boom you are out of the game. There's the potential there for yards to have lost 1.000 per feeding space in the last 18 months if you where buying/feeding yearlings relatively naked. 5k head times 1000 per head is more money then only the strongest producers can stand. | |
