Subject: RE: John Deere 6500 sprayer Raven Electronic Rate Controller

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
The connector on the back of all true Ravens is a Conxall, it is rather small and has a 3 pins with a locking ring.

I'm not certain what the other box is that you describe as being glued to the back of the Raven. Many years ago, Raven an an interface box that allowed radar guns to be used with the then current 440's etc. At that point in time, the Ravens could not handle the higher output of a real radar gun. The interface box was actually a "divide by 100" device so that for every 100 speed input pulses that it saw it produced 1 output pulse.

With the special Raven (modified for Deere) that you have I believe the speed comes off of an output shaft that drives the rear wheels. Possibly this box is manipulating the speed so that the Raven can work with it. From the way that you describe the box, it seems that it is inline which leads me to believe that it is manipulating the input speed signal. Possibly it is that "box" that is your problem.

A picture of that box would be helpful.
