Subject: RE: John Deere 6500 sprayer Raven Electronic Rate Controller

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
The speed sensor connection is the small connector on the back of the Raven. The large connector is used for everything else. The speed sensor connector on the back of the Raven may have worked loose if the large locking nut is at all loose. This can allow the connector to turn which can "wind up"the wires internally causing the speed connector to become partially unplugged from the circuit board.

Fortunately this is an easy fix if it is the problem. Remove the back cover off of the Raven by removing the four long screws in the corners and a couple of other screws in the center. Inspect the wires leading from the Connector to the circuit board. If they are wound up, unwind them and check that the connector to the circuit board is fully mated. Look around for any other obvious problems. Reassemble and try again.
